It’s important to take care of your Oculus Rift S or Rift and secure it in a safe place. Keep in mind your limited warranty doesn’t cover normal wear and tear or physical damages.

To keep your Oculus Rift S or Rift safe, follow these tips:

• To avoid damaging your lenses and display, keep your Oculus Rift S or Rift away from direct sunlight.
• To avoid scratching your lenses, keep your Oculus Rift S or Rift away from sharp objects (example: cable tips, keys.)
• To avoid general damage:
  • Don’t leave your Rift S or Rift in extremely hot locations (example: inside of a car.)
  • Don’t leave your Rift S or Rift near heat sources (example: furnace.)
  • Don’t leave your Rift S or Rift near pets or small children.
  • Don’t eat, drink or smoke near your Rift S or Rift.
  • Make sure to clear your play area of any objects, wires or people you may knock into or trip over when using your Rift S or Rift.
  • Secure your Rift S or Rift in a safe place when you’re not using it.

It is important to take care of your Oculus products and clean them often. Cosmetic wear and tear and physical damages are not covered under warranty.

Oculus Touch

To clean your Oculus Touch Controllers:

• Use a clean or new dry cloth to clean the outside of your Controllers.
• Use non-abrasive anti-bacterial wipes to clean the surface and buttons. Don’t use alcohol or an abrasive cleaning solution.

Oculus Earphones

To clean your Oculus Earphones:

• Use a dry cloth or non-abrasive anti-bacterial wipes to clean the earphones.

Headset

To clean your Oculus Rift headset:

• Use a dry cloth to clean the outside of your headset.
• Use non-abrasive anti-bacterial wipes to clean the straps and the facial interface foam. Don’t use alcohol or an abrasive cleaning solution.

Headset Lenses

To clean your Rift headset lenses:

• Use a dry optical lens micro-fiber cloth to clean your headset lenses. Don’t use liquid or chemical cleansers.
• Starting from the center of the lens, gently wipe the lens in a circular motion moving outwards.

Sensor

To clean your Rift sensor lens:

• Use a dry optical lens micro-fiber cloth to clean your sensor lens. Don’t use liquid or chemical cleansers.
• Starting from the center of the lens, gently wipe the lens in a circular motion moving outwards.

To clean your Rift sensor stand:

• Use a dry cloth or non-abrasive anti-bacterial wipes to clean your sensor stand.

Remote

To clean your Rift remote:

• Use a dry cloth or non-abrasive anti-bacterial wipes to clean your remote. Don’t use alcohol or an abrasive cleaning solution.
