If you have a problem with content you recently bought in the Oculus Store, you can request a refund on the Oculus app on your phone. You can learn more about the refund policy by visiting our Oculus Rift/Quest Content Refund Policy and Oculus Store Terms.

Refund Availability

For Oculus Quest 2 and Quest content, you may be eligible for a refund if you used the content for less than 2 hours and you've requested a refund less than 14 days after purchase.

Requesting a Refund

To request using the Oculus companion app on your phone:

  1. Open the Oculus companion app on your phone.

  2. Tap Settings from the bottom menu.

  3. Tap Purchase History under Payment.

  4. Tap on the content you want to request a refund for, then tap Request Refund.

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to request your refund.

For Refunds Not Covered by the Content Refund Policies

Even if you don't qualify for an automated refund under this policy, you may be able to receive a refund by contacting Oculus Support. For example, these refund rights are separate from any legal rights you may have if the content supplied is either faulty or misdescribed.

Receiving Your Refund

Once you request a refund, we'll review your request and email you back with an update. You won't be able to use the content while we review your request. To check the status of your request, visit your Purchase History.

It typically takes us no more than 5 days to review, verify and process refund requests. It may take longer for your statement to reflect the credit. If a refund request is granted, we'll credit you through your original payment method(s). If you still haven't received the money after 7-9 business days, we recommend contacting your payment provider for help receiving your refund.

For titles that are available for Oculus Quest 2, Quest, and Oculus Rift S, we support the ability to buy once and be entitled to the content on both devices.

With that being said, Oculus believes that it's important to empower the developer to make this decision, so while encouraged, developers are not required to implement cross-buying. The decision to allow for cross-buying is ultimately up to each developer and whatever is best for their business and community.

It's also important to note that Quest 2/Quest and Rift S run on different operating systems, so progress in a game on one device won’t necessarily carry over to the other.

If you believe you should have received a cross-buy app from Rift to Quest 2 or Quest, please allow some time for updates to your account.

You can set a PIN to make it easy to purchase VR games and experiences. You can do this from the Oculus app on your compatible smartphone.

To add a PIN:

  1. Open the Oculus app on your phone.

  2. Select your headset from the top left corner of the app.

  3. Tap Settings in the bottom right corner of the app.

  4. Tap Reset Oculus PIN.

  5. Enter your password and your new PIN.

  6. Tap the Submit button.

Note: If this is the first time you're setting a PIN for your account, you'll need to confirm the change using the email associated with your account.

If you're having trouble finding the bundle that you want to purchase in the Oculus Store, try looking for the bundle when you're in VR. To do this:

From your Oculus Quest 2 or Quest:
  1. Press on your right Touch controller to pull up your universal menu.

  2. Select Store.

  3. Select what you want to download.

  4. Select the price to buy it, or select Free if it’s a free download.

From your Rift S or Rift headset:
  1. Put on your headset and select Store at the bottom.

  2. Select what you want to download.

  3. Select the price to buy it or select Free if it’s a free download.

You can redeem a promo code for your Oculus Rift S or Rift in the Oculus app on your computer, or for your Quest, Rift S, Rift or Go using the Oculus app on your phone.

To redeem a promo code for Rift or Rift S on your computer:

  1. Open the Oculus app on your computer.
  2. Select Settings in the left menu.
  3. Select the Account tab.
  4. Click Redeem Code and then enter your promo code.
  5. Click Redeem.

To redeem a promo code for Quest, Rift S, Rift, or Go in the Oculus mobile app:

  1. Open the Oculus app on your phone
  2. Tap Settings at the bottom right of your app.
  3. Scroll down and tap Redeem Code.
  4. Enter your code and then tap the Submit button.

If you receive store credit from Oculus, you can check your store credit balance from your settings in the Oculus app. Before you use your store credit, you’ll need to add a payment method to your account. All your Oculus devices share the same store credit.

To check your store credit balance using the Oculus app on your computer:

  1. Open the Oculus app on your computer.
  2. Select Settings in the left menu.
  3. Select the Payment tab to view your store credit balance.

To check your store credit balance using the Oculus app on your phone:

  1. Open the Oculus app on your phone.
  2. Tap Settings from the bottom menu.
  3. Tap Payment Methods to view your store credit balance.

To check your store credit balance using the Oculus app for Gear VR:

  1. Open the Oculus app on your phone.
  2. Tap More.
  3. Tap Payment Method to view your store credit balance.

Note: You can only use store credits in the currency they were issued in. Oculus Store Credit is non-transferable and cannot be used for other currency.

If you have store credit in a currency that is different from the currency of your Oculus store, the store credit cannot be applied to your purchases.

People using a credit or debit card issued in the European Economic Area for online purchases may be asked to complete additional authentication measures.

Oculus supports making payments more secure and transparent. As part of the revised Second Payment Services Directive (PSD2) issued by the EU, you may be asked to authenticate your credit or debit card.

Some of the places you may be asked to authenticate your payment include:

  • When adding a new card to your account

  • When purchasing hardware from Oculus.com

  • When purchasing an app or game from the Oculus store

  • When purchasing in-app or downloadable content

Some of the ways your bank may ask you to authenticate your payment include:

  • Respond to an email with a secure link to complete your purchase.

  • Open a payment confirmation from the Oculus app on your phone.

  • Provide additional verification for your bank in a browser window.

You can also add PayPal as a confirmed payment method to your account. Once you do this, you should be able to use your confirmed PayPal account to complete purchases without additional verification steps.

This process is in place to make your payments more secure, but we understand that any additional steps may present new challenges with completing your purchase. Who you contact for help depends on the type of issue you're having.

  • If you’re experiencing a general technical problem such as connectivity or login issues, please contact Oculus Support.

  • If you’re experiencing a problem with the authentication process itself, please contact the bank that issued your credit or debit card.

The payment method you add to your account is used to buy things in the Oculus store. All of your Oculus devices share the same payment method.

To add or remove a payment method using the Oculus app on your computer:

  1. Open the Oculus app on your PC.
  2. Select Settings in the left menu.
  3. Select the Payment tab.
  4. Click the Add Payment Method dropdown menu.
  5. Select either Credit or Debit Card or PayPal Account.
  6. Enter your payment info to add your payment method. To remove a payment method, click Remove next to the applicable card or PayPal account.

To add a payment method using the Oculus app on your phone:

  1. Open the Oculus app on your phone.
  2. Tap Settings from the bottom menu.
  3. Tap Payment Methods.
  4. Tap + Add Payment Method.
  5. Tap Add a credit or debit card or Add a PayPal account.
  6. Enter your payment info to add your payment method.

To remove a payment method using the Oculus app on your phone:

  1. Open the Oculus app on your phone.
  2. Tap Settings from the bottom menu.
  3. Tap Payment Methods.
  4. Tap the payment method you want to remove and then tap Remove.

To add or remove a payment method using the Oculus app for Gear VR:

  1. Open the Oculus app on your phone.
  2. Tap More and then tap Payment Method.
  3. Tap + Add Payment.
  4. Tap Add a credit or debit card or Add a PayPal account.
  5. Enter your payment info to add your payment method. To remove a payment method, tap and then tap Remove.

You’ll need to log into your account on Oculus.com to view your purchase history for all your Oculus devices.

To view your purchase history:

  1. Go to Oculus.com
  2. Click Login in the top right and then log in to your account
  3. Click your username in the top right and then select My Orders

To make purchases on the Oculus Store through PayPal, you’ll first need to connect your PayPal account.

To connect your PayPal account to your account on Oculus:

  1. Open your Settings.
  2. Select Payment Methods.
  3. Select Add a PayPal account.
  4. Log in through PayPal and follow the onscreen instructions.

Note: you’ll be asked to complete your billing agreement with Facebook Technologies. Once your billing agreement is set up, you'll be able to make future payments using PayPal.

After you have successfully connected PayPal to your account on Oculus, you can update your preferred PayPal payment method. To change your preferred PayPal payment method to PayPal Credit or PayPal Balance:

  1. Visit PayPal.com and sign in to your personal PayPal account
  2. Click Wallet in the top menu
  3. Click your desired PayPal payment method in the left menu
  4. Under the section Preferred when paying online, select Set as preferred.

After these steps have been completed, your PayPal account should automatically save this payment method to use toward your future Oculus digital purchases.
