Use your computer in VR in Horizon Workrooms

Note: If you have an Apple computer with an M1 chip and are having trouble using your computer in VR, please download and install the latest version of Oculus Remote Desktop for macOS.
To use your computer in VR in Workrooms, you’ll need to first download and install Oculus Remote Desktop for macOS (Big Sur and Catalina) or Windows 10. Oculus Remote Desktop lets you pair your computer to your Oculus headset, streaming what is on your computer screen into VR.

Switching monitors

  1. 1.
From the Workrooms app, hover over your in-VR computer screen and select Switch monitors.

GPU support on Windows

It's common for gaming computers to have a hybrid GPU setup. However, Oculus Remote Desktop can only run on your computer’s integrated GPU. You can adjust which GPU is used for Oculus Remote Desktop in your Windows settings.
Keep in mind, some GPUs have their own control panel application that overrides Windows settings (for example Nvidia). If your GPU has a control panel, be sure to enable integrated GPU support for Oculus Remote Desktop from the control panel application.
